Bidwill Trust Hospital confirmed their support for the MRI Scanner appeal, with a grant of $45,000. As Bidwill Trust Hospital Chairman, Mark Hervey announced in the Timaru Herald "Bidwill Trust Hospital is a Charitable Trust (owned by the people of South Canterbury). As 2012 is our centennial year the board would like to make a special gift to the South Canterbury community. The MRI scanner is exactly the sort of project we wish to support. The Board decided it was important our Hospital made this donation, as part of our overall commitment to ensure that the best possible health services are provided here in Timaru".
